VOLUNTEER Every Saturday morning, anti-choice activists are harassing patients in the parking lot of Family Planning Associates Women’s Health Clinic.
We are looking for people to volunteer for 2.5 hour shifts on Saturday mornings to help escort the patients into the clinic safely. Shifts are from 7:00-9:30 and 9:30-12:00. If you interested in volunteering please email email@example.com
Each semester we gain student interns from specific Women's Studies classes who are required to do 20 hrs of community service with WOA! If they need material or help remembering our discussion topics, our MEETINGS tab can help. Questions that interns/class volunteers may have should be directed to the WOA secretary, whose email is firstname.lastname@example.org. The secretary keeps track of hours each intern/volunteer completes, so be sure to always sign in, or let the sec know what events you attend!
In order to fulfill the requirements of this internship you must:
Attend weekly general board meetings
Take an active part in the weekly discussions and activities
Be open to learning and respect others’ opinions and thoughts
Commit to interning for a total of 20 hours throughout the semester
Commit to attending at least three (3) other cultural, academic, or fundraiser event as part of the 20 hours
Keep a journal throughout your experience, in which you will:
Keep track of what you have done
Explain your duties
Explain relevance to your class
List what you learned
List any feelings or conflicts or changes undergone
Interns/volunteers earn their 20 hours through the following:
